FRANKENSTEIN PROJECT

The Hungarian theatre and film director Kornel Mundruczo works often with heavy subjects. His interest lies in the losers and outsiders of the society, the ones outside money and outside success. The question that the director asks is: can you blame the world of success and money? Pardoxically, in this story which doesn't lack dark secrets of past, revenge, crime and which is inhibited by "bad" characters only, there is no one to blame in the end. We are left to decide on our own, who is the monster and who - the victim, and if the world is good or bad.
Frankenstein project won three awards in the Hungarian National theatre festival - for Best performance, Best Actress, as well as Audience Award. The Hungarian cast is well owrth to metion as they deliver a shockingly truthful presentation of reality. Kornel Mundruczo has involved in the same project both very professional and renowed Hungarian theatre actors and absolute amatuers - real people who don't pretend and just live their own lives on stage. Frankenstein project is an exceptioanl theatre experience, that not only arrests with an unusually good story but also totally succeeds in bluring the borders between reality and fiction.
